Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

  1. Idris Elba Is Making A Movie Trilogy About Edgar Allan Poe Fighting Sorcerers

Quoth the raven, "what the hell?"

Once upon a midnight dreary, Elba pondered, weak and weary, over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—and then he found an old book about Edgar Allan Poe doing battle with the devil and thought, "I would absolutely pay to see that movie." So his company, Green Door Productions, will be overseeing a three-part film adaptation.

  3. Our 16th President Gets The 16-Bit Treatment In This Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Video Game

    Bloody Good Fun

I'm not sure how many of you thought Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was a good idea for a movie to begin with but this made me chuckle. YouTube user freddiew is calling this fake video game 8-bit, and we'll usually default to whatever the creator decided for a name, but in this case we couldn't help but point out that titling this one with its more appropriate number makes more sense. After all, Lincoln was our 16th President. It's ok though, we'll forgive them, since 8-Bitham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter does have a nice ring to it. Bit-technicalities aside, enjoy! 9. Trent Reznor to Score, Play Onscreen Role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

    Of Course!

For some of us, seeing Trent Reznor win an Oscar (and several other fancy awards) with Atticus Ross for scoring The Social Network while wearing a short haircut and a suit is something we never thought we'd see. In fact, it's weird. And while we are super psyched to see the former Nine Inch Nails frontman doing so well (really!), it's just odd to type sentences like the following: Oscar-winning composer Trent Reznor will provide the score and act in the movie version of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Wow. There is nothing about that sentence that isn't the best.

  10. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Author Scripting Tim Burton Film Dark Shadows

Seth Grahame-Smith, author of both Pride and Prejudice and Zombie and the more recent but equally ridiculous Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is about to get one more reason to be beloved by the eccentric geek community: He has been chosen to write the script for the next big Tim Burton-Johnny Depp collaboration, Dark Shadows. The film is to be based off the gothic soap opera series of the same name that ran on ABC in the last 60s and early 70s. Perhaps as cool as the fact that such an out-there writer earned this opportunity is the way in which he earned it.
