    See, I’m just not getting it with Sam Claflin. He’s handsome enough, I guess(Gale’s more up my alley) but he’s just not screaming Catching Fire Finnick to me, more Mockingjay Finnick.

    I think they might’ve cast Finnick with Mockingjay in mind, because it’s easier to fake charisma if that’s an actor’s weak point, I think, especially when we know it is all an act, than it is to fake being utterly broken.

    Finnick…. no. Not seeing the movie because of it… no. Finnick was not a reddish haired pale guy.

    Why is Gale holding a rose? So far, only… spoilery characters have been holding white roses.

    I think the roses represent rebellion (except in the case of Snow).

    But then, what about… aargh, this is getting really spoilery… certain characters who got some of the earlier portraits?

    Good point. If we’re thinking about the same two characters, and I think we are, one of them was, erm, incapacitated before things started to go down, right? And the other really should have a rose, too. (Except I can’t imagine him consenting to hold one. Doesn’t seem his thing, really.)

    Even being “incapacitated,” the first does so much so subtly that I feel like a rose is deserved if they do symbolize rebellion. The second character not consenting is a good point!

    True. But then again maybe the Capitol IS just giving roses to the on-camera people. It’s not like Gale should technically have a portrait of his own anyway.
