XCOM: Enemy Unknown is one of the games I’m most looking forward to this fall. Aside from reviving an interesting older franchise, the game blends turn-based strategy with Civilization-style resource management and diplomacy. Earlier this week, publisher 2K Games released an interactive trailer for XCOM that lets you simulate a few versions of a battle, where your squad may or may not get eradicated by the invading alien hoards.
You can also spoil all the fun by watching the movie straight through, which is like reading a choose-your-own-adventure story from cover to cover.
If you’re a PC gamer, and watching isn’t enough, a short demo of XCOM: Enemy Unknown is currently available on Steam. The full game comes to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 9th.
- I don’t know if the XCOM demo will run on Linux…
- I’m guessing it’ll big picture mode.
- I know it sounds crazy, but I think aliens designed the super-slim PS3…
