A woman had allegedly attempted a dine-and-dash modus at the Grand Hyatt’s Dallas Fort Worth airport branch before being questioned by the police. On X, user @Serenitee_Sam shared police bodycam footage and claimed that a woman tried to charge her $66 food bill to a hotel room. The woman in the video alleges that the hotel room was occupied by her father.

A hotel staff member claimed he called the authorities after growing suspicious of a woman who had visited the hotel multiple times prior to the call. The staff claimed that in her previous visits, the woman would only ask for paper or water. But he claimed the woman sat down for a meal this time, and paid her bill by writing a hotel room number instead.

The staff alleges he did a due diligence check and claimed that the room number the woman wrote down was not occupied by a guest at the time. He claimed to have confronted the woman regarding the vacant hotel room, but alleges she kept insisting he call the room, prompting the staff to call the police instead.

The Woman Just Wanted Her Burger

The alleged woman was found and claimed that she was meeting her father, who allegedly arrived not long before the confrontation. When questioned, she claimed that her father had her ID and boarding pass, but refused to go up to the hotel room. Police questioned the woman if she could settle the bill instead.

“I don’t have cash on me. My father is paying the cash,” the woman insisted. The woman later claimed that the hotel’s bartender also told her to charge to the hotel room, and that if the bill was not paid, the bartender would pay it in her stead. The bartender claimed he didn’t agree to any of the arrangement.

“Either we’re going to pay the bill, or you’re going to be arrested,” the officer said. The police claimed the woman would be arrested for theft of services. “Arrested for a burger? You don’t arrest someone for a burger,” the woman said. “You give them a bill, and you give them a timeframe to pay a bill.”

After going back and forth with the officers for a good amount of time, the woman was allegedly arrested for failing to pay the bill. The woman also claimed that she had never been to the Grand Hyatt airport branch before the incident.

“I wanna be kept somewhere safer than this,” the woman said when she was escorted out of the building. “I am a god. You hurt me with my arm, and you’re gonna be punished.” While the woman’s comments may have sounded like those of a man claiming to be Dracula, she alleges that she “was not erratic. I’m a woman.” The woman was allegedly brought to jail, and considering what she failed to pay was less than $100, it is likely that she got slapped with a $500 fine for a Class C misdemeanor under Texas law.
