Trump brags about stopping 8 wars despite starting 1 just last month

A video uploaded by Fox News in January 2026 has once again taken center stage following Trump’s recent bestowal of the inaugural America First Award by fellow Republicans. For those unfamiliar, Trump was handed over this award by House Speaker Mike Johnson on March 25, 2026, as a token of appreciation for his leadership as President of the United States and his efforts to “make America strong again on the world stage to solve all the domestic problems that we are facing in this country.”
Quite naturally, after the incident was brought to everyone’s attention, many people raised concerns, saying they did not believe Trump was suited for the award. Others joked about it, claiming that the Republicans had to create a made-up award just to appease Trump, who didn’t get a Nobel Peace Prize despite wanting one. Some, mostly MAGAs, of course, celebrated the fact that Trump was granted such an “honour.”
Fox News video highlights Trump’s repeated efforts to market himself as a peacemaker
A video uploaded by Fox News on January 10, 2026, has been gaining momentum on X (formerly Twitter) amid the US’s war in Iran. In it, Donald Trump can be seen emphasizing that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping eight “big” wars. “I can’t think of anybody in history who should get the Nobel Prize more than me,” he says confidently in the video, stressing that he does not know anyone who has achieved such a feat.
In the video, Trump also takes a jab at former U.S. President Barack Obama, suggesting that he did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize he received in 2009. He also said that to this day, Obama has no idea why he was awarded the prize. “Obama got the Nobel Prize. He had no idea why. He still has no idea. He walks around and says, ‘I got the Nobel Prize.’ ‘Why did you get a Nobel Prize?’ He got it almost immediately upon attaining office, and didn’t do anything, and he was a bad president.”
The US and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran in February this year
Just a month after Donald Trump claimed he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping eight wars (not the first time he’s made such a claim), the US, in alliance with Israel, launched an attack on Iran, killing its top leader, Ali Khamenei, and causing significant damage. As of March 30, 2026, both nations’ forces remain on Iranian soil as negotiations between the US and Iran go on, possibly leading to a ceasefire deal.
Many people, including members of his loyal MAGA base, have criticized Trump for his actions in Iran, arguing that they don’t fit with his “America-first” policies. Therefore, him receiving the first-ever America First Award now is pure irony.
