What Secrets Can We Glean From All This Thor: Ragnarok Set Footage?

Recommended Videos

Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi dumped over ten minutes of footage from the last day of shooting onto that newfangled “Internet,” and it’s a fun look behind the scenes with Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and a whole lot of other actors. Of course, because this is a Marvel movie, everyone’s already actively at work tearing the footage apart for more clues about the movie.

First of all, we’ve got our closest thing to a look at Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie yet, with face paint/tattoos that did not come from Coachella, no matter what Thompson tries to tell us. There’s also a passing mention of Miek, as The Hollywood Reporter pointed out, who’s a bug-like character involved in the “Planet Hulk” storyline that forms the basis of Ragnarok.

Speaking of which, Mark Ruffalo is not there, but this appears to be part of a fairly large battle scene, so it’s possible that his big, green alter ego be there in CGI form once the movie heads into post-production. We’re definitely getting a very ’80s sci-fi vibe from the set, which is right on with what Waititi himself has already said about the movie, which sounds like a welcome departure from the past two Thor films.

Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters in just over a year on November 3, 2017.
