Oculus Rift pre-orders have been stacked up with delays for a while now, but the virtual reality headset will nonetheless enter into retail distribution as of this week. Specifically, 48 Best Buy stores across the United States plan to stock the device starting on May 7th.
I know there are plenty of ladies out there who've gone on exhaustive searches for the perfect 10th Doctor coat for them, whether for a costume or just because long coats are cool, if you'll pardon the phrase. Now, ThinkGeek (of course) has one that's got official approval from the BBC. Start saving your pennies.
"Showrooming" is the process by which customers go to a store to get their grubby little hands on a product before going to order that product online for less money. Stores hate it, and would love it if you stopped doing it. Some stores try to offer better deals, or improve the buying experience, but one store's taking the opposite approach and charging customers a fee just to look around. You're doing it wrong.

Not all that glitters is gold
Look, I think everybody here knows what to do if you want a Lego purse, and it rhymes with Betsy. But lets say, just hypothetically, that you were willing to plunk down quite a bit more cash. Really flaunt
that all that gold you earned doing dailies. Then you're probably in the market for these Lego Handbags Karl Lagerfeld
designed for Chanel's Spring/Summer 2013 show. The clunky clutches come with attachable straps, and probably hurt a lot less when you step on them barefoot then their tinier cousins.
Not all that glitters is gold
I think that even if you lost one of these gold-plated hoops
, you would be within your rights to wear only one of them and say that was how they were supposed to be worn anyway.
Look, I'm just as much against the glue-gears-on-it-and-call-it-steampunk aesthetic as everyone else. And so, no, I'm not really sure what function the mess of gears that adorn the custom shoes of possibly now defunct Etsy shop HotAirBallonRide could have... but I do know that the shoes have LED lights you can flick on with a switch. Unfortunately, they're probably not being offered anymore, as all the links to HotAirBallonRide's Etsy shop that we could find 404ed. Pic of the lights below!
Look, all I'm saying is if you're going to invest in this particular couch, you might want to forget about investing in a pet cat any other color than white.
Make It So
crafted these shirts for WeLoveFine, based on eight different famous episodes of the original Star Trek
. While they're certainly pretty to look at, they're currently only available in men's sizes, at least unless the site sees a lot of demand for them. So maybe you should come on in here, take a look, and start demanding.
Make It So
Yeah, yeah you would. Well, if you want to wear it, you should probably head over to We Love Fine and rate some shirts
in their Star Trek design contest. The ultimate word on which of the rated finalists lies with the two judges, but don't despair. A good Uhura shirt still has a chance, since the judges are none other than John de Lancie
and Nichelle Nichols
, Q and Uhura themselves.
hold on to your butts
I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry
But there isn't really any info out there on these shoes besides this picture. "That's okay," you tell yourself, taking deep breaths, "That's okay. I'd have to fight the urge to explain to everyone that this pose for the T-Rex represents and outdated model of dinosaur posture in which they dragged their tails on the ground instead of using them for balance the whole time I was wearing them, anyway. It wouldn't be," you pause as your voice cracks, "worth it."
i'll just leave this here
eFX is a movie collectibles company that prepared a number of really to die for items at San Diego Comic Con, including a set of Agent Coulson's beloved Captain America trading cards, Thor's formal helmet, and a few gorgeous reproductions of Captain America propaganda posters seen in Captain America: The First Avenger
. But alas... only a tiny fraction of us can go to San Diego Comic Con, and everybody had to satisfy themselves with their Hunger Games
propaganda poster instead. Just me
But now eFX is swinging into production on a number of Avengers items
, including the cards (in both bloody and not-bloody versions), which you can see after the jump.
A dress with pockets is a rare thing, indeed, take it from this high school percussionist who was always searching for performance outfits that I could slip a pair of alternate mallets into for easy switching. But an Evil Dead
inspired dress that gives you chainsaw hand when you slip your fingers into it?
That's pretty much unheard of. But Etsy shop Nerd Alert Designs
doesn't stop there. We've selected a few of our favorites to show you.
