Woman Buys New Abercrombie & Fitch. Then She Reaches the Pockets and Immediately Finds a Disturbing Biohazard Hidden Inside: ‘Soaking Wet’
She found a bloody surprise in the pocket of her brand new pants.

A good pair of jeans can last a lifetime. Abercrombie & Fitch is a legacy brand that’s been around for more than a hundred years. When Jackie O’Brien (@jackieobrien88) bought a pair of white pants from the brand, she didn’t expect the item to come with a supposed biohazard in the pocket.
“I just bought a pair of white pants, and I was putting them on,” O’Brien told TikTok. Her friend in the room claimed that they had been trying to contact customer service regarding their issue with the low-rise, linen-blend denim O’Brien bought.
“I stuck my hand in the pocket because there’s something in there. And I pulled out a bloody tampon,” O’Brien alleged. To make matters worse, she also claimed that the applicator was included in the pocket. She took a photo with the tampon, packaging, and applicator she supposedly found inside the white pair of pants.
Customer service was perplexed by her situation
Upon inspection, there were no visible external stains on the pocket area, making the discovery even more surprising. It seems that there are still people who don’t properly dispose of tampons. One TikTok user even went on social media to defend herself for inviting a guest and then leaving a tampon on her kitchen table. But disposing of a tampon in a pair of pants for sale at a store is definitely an unexpected twist.
The friends proceeded to record their interaction with customer service. O’Brien said that she has spoken to other customer service representatives before, but they were unresponsive.
O’Brien told the customer service representative over the phone about her situation. She explained that there was a used tampon in the pocket of the pants. Despite explaining the issue, O’Brien’s situation was left unresolved yet again.
She went on another call, but the representative misunderstood her concern. They clarified, “There is a bloodstain inside the package?” But O’Brien corrected them, saying she found a used tampon in the pocket.
“The soaking wet, bloody tampon itself was in the pocket. It’s not just the stain,” O’Brien said. But the customer service representative could only apologize.
Her clip went viral on social media, garnering an array of reactions from TikTok users. Many were shocked that someone would put a used tampon inside a pair of new jeans. Others warned O’Brien, telling her not to touch the tampon any further.
One commenter wrote, “That’s a biohazard. Definitely contact the health department.” But others also expressed frustration over the customer service representatives who handled O’Brien’s case and their lack of understanding of the woman’s concern.
What did Abercrombie & Fitch do?
Abercrombie & Fitch reached out to O’Brien via comment. In a follow-up video, a man named Nick allegedly called O’Brien to discuss “tampongate.” O’Brien expressed her frustration with customer service.
Nevertheless, Nick allegedly informed her that he called the store manager and spoke to her customer service representatives. She also told her that they had an internal meeting to prevent the same event from recurring.
“So, they gave me the 30% off coupon, as we all know. But he admitted that was not the appropriate response for this. They refunded me for the jeans,” O’Brien said. She also stated that they offered her replacement jeans to “make it right” with her. But for all of O’Brien’s woes, she isn’t the only one who had to go through hoops for a refund. Another woman who bought a $200 dress from House of CB also felt the need to go viral before she was finally refunded.
