Raunchy, Heartless Vacation Lacks the Essential Sense of Family

Just to make sure we're all in line: The new movie Vacation isn’t a sequel (yes, it is), and it isn’t a remake (yes, it is). It’s that new mash-up of the term called "reboot." This sequel-remake-reboot combo supposes that Rusty, raised by Clark Griswold, has more or less become his father. Oh, and there are a lot of gross and mean-spirited jokes.

Community is finally back on the air as of tonight! We're super excited to see how the new season shapes up, but a number of black marks have accumulated against the show since we last saw the sunny set of Greendale. Dan Harmon's gone, the show got moved from its initial season premiere, and Chevy Chase up and quit before season four was finished being shot. Things have been somewhat quiet as to what happened, but Joel McHale spoke candidly about Chase's exit for the first time with Howard Stern yesterday, and what he had to say was quite interesting.

Community just cannot catch a break. First showrunner Dan Harmon gets fired. Then it's the subject of a showtime shuffle that leaves its fans wondering if season four will ever actually premiere. (As of now it's February 7th. I'll believe it when I see it.) Then Chevy Chase quits. (Though that could be considered a bright spot, depending on who you talk to.) And now one of its star writers, Megan Ganz, has left to write for Modern Family.

Well, it was only a matter of time. Chevy Chase, who has been vocal (to put it mildly) about his dissatisfaction with the show and former (*sob*) showrunner Dan Harmon, is officially dropping out of Greendale Community College. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner, frankly.

Oh Comic-Con, the wonders you bring us! So many, in fact, that the delights of this Community gag reel almost slipped past our notice. Woe would we have been if it had, though. Community bloopers rank among our favorite DVD features of all time, so getting them before the DVD release is a treat we didn't expect. We would've missed Alison Brie demonstrating her rapping abilities, some inappropriate groping, and Chevy Chase inadvertently inventing some strangely visual slang. Oh, and we get to watch Danny Pudi and Alison Brie run around in their Inspector Spacetime costumes. The question is not if, readers, but when you will enjoy this video. (via Collider)

The Hollywood Reporter was given exclusive shots of Community's season finale -- and they are in the style of 16-bit video games! The show's third season ends tomorrow night with three episodes, with one last foray into glorious geekery. My only question is if this has something to do with the dreamatorium, or have Troy and Abed just officially lost their minds completely.
