Grab a Handkerchief and Settle In for Burger Fiction’s Super Sad Movie Supercut

Recommended Videos

This supercut of emotional and touching moments from movies will probably get your tear ducts going. Most of these fall into the category of movies that I remember from when I was a kid, like E.T. and Iron Giant, but there are some movies from the aughts in there too, like the final choice of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. It’s a good thing that last choice is a bit of a happy-cry, because the rest of these moments are just emotional wreckage.

There are 27 movie scenes included here in total, which seems like a lot, and yet I could easily think of many other movie moments that have made me cry–either in a happy way or a sad way. The end of The Little Mermaid makes me happy-cry every time, for reasons that I’ve written about before. Toy Story 3‘s climactic moment appears in the super-cut here, but of course Toy Story 2 has its own heart-wrenching scene. There’s only one scene from Up in here (the one from the beginning) but the end of that movie is a glurge-fest too. And Brave? I can’t be the only person who cried watching Brave.

What scenes from movies get your waterworks flowing? Any favorites to share?
