New Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV Spot Drops More Tantalizing New Footage

Recommended Videos

Thankfully sparing on huge new revelations (as we want to have something to be surprised by in the theater), this new TV spot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens only squeezes in a few small moments of new footage, but they’re worth it.

First and foremost, we’ve got two great Han and Leia bits (separately, sadly). In one, Han’s shows off a world-weary sense of humor befitting Harrison Ford, and in the other, General Leia (General Organa? General Skywalker? What name is she going with here, anyway?) is presiding over some kind of roundtable meeting—knowing her, a battle plan.

Then there’s the direct mention of the dark side by Kylo Ren, which we all knew was coming, but it’s still great to hear (though we don’t yet know if he’s aspiring to the dark side or he can actually use the Force). So … is Han handing Rey the blaster a touching father-daughter moment, or is it meant to harken back to that time Han tried to convince (her father?) Luke that he what he really needed was a good blaster at his side? WE NEED TO KNOW.
