So Jimmy Fallon has learned nothing then?

During the 2016 election, one of the biggest “promotional” issues with Donald Trump’s campaign came down to Jimmy Fallon treating Donald Trump like a human on his show instead of holding him accountable. Now, he’s planning on doing the same with Greg Gutfeld.

As reported by Pajiba, Gutfeld, who is a popular Fox News host and a small minded boy, is set to make his The Tonight Show debut. Sorry, you guys canceled Stephen Colbert for this nonsense? Fallon, the worst of the late night hosts, continues to just make a joke of himself if this actually happens. Especially since both Donald Trump and Gufeld have mocked the show.

Fallon is the least proactive of the late night hosts. I’d rank them with Seth Meyers being the most anti-Trump, then Colbert, then Jimmy Kimmel, and I’d even throw in shows like The Daily Show and Last Week with John Oliver over Fallon. Things like Trump and now this have continued to knock Fallon down in my ranking because what exactly is this going to do?

After the Trump thing, many of us criticized Fallon for giving Trump that platform and “humanizing” him on the show. He made it all a joke and ignored the fact that Trump was threatening to take away rights from Americans, which he has done. Fallon seemingly felt bad for it and said as much after the fact but bringing Gutfeld onto his show is…literally the opposite!

Why does he need MORE of a platform? He has his own show!!!

Gutfeld! is a show all its own and, according to a quick Google search, has more viewers than The Tonight Show does. So why exactly is this happening? What it feels like is Fallon trying to keep his job as the worst host after Colbert’s cancelation.

Like, can someone at NBC explain this to me like I’m 4? Because there is no reason why this would happen unless Fallon wants some of the MAGA viewers that Gutfeld has. If that’s the case, say it. Open your mouth and say you want the right-wing viewership of Gutfeld! so then we can all stop pretending like you’re some left-leaning host.

Look, I gave Fallon the benefit of the doubt with the Trump things because he was never the “political one” on Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. That was Seth Meyers and Tina Fey and then Amy Poehler had her political run with Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. We know where those three stand. Fallon was more the jokes guy and that’s fine, whatever.

But this move is embarrassing because who is this helping? Gutfeld! has the ratings so if anything, this is all to help Fallon and The Tonight Show out and that’s who you want to align yourself with? A man who mocked your show in the past and constantly belittles people because he, himself, is just a small pathetic man? If that’s the kind of image you want associated with you, have fun with that.
