The Trailer for Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens Is Here, so This Is Really Happening

Proof that Syfy is just going to keep riding the Sharknado train.

At this point, everyone pretty much knows what they’re in for each time they sit down to watch a Sharknado movie. To date, three of them have premiered on Syfy and become something of cult favorites. People have had viewing parties, they’ve live-tweeted their reactions, and they’ve come to terms with the fact that as long as there are willing parties, we’re going to be getting Sharknado movies for the foreseeable future.

The announcement that we were getting a fourth Sharknado came right after the third one premiered on Syfy, along with a social media campaign designed for fans to choose whether or not the character of April (played for the last three films by actress Tara Reid) should be killed off or live to see the fourth movie. It sounds like April’s fate has been secured, since Reid is set to return for Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens (yeah, I know) along with co-star Ian Ziering. The first trailer has been released, and this time, the Sharknado comes to Vegas.

There’s everything from casinos to Elvis impersonators to Ian Ziering fighting off a shark with his crotch—I can’t believe I just had to type out those words, but there you go. Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens will also feature appearances from David Hasselhoff, Mashiela Lusha, Ryan Newman, Gary Busey, Stacey Dash, Cheryl Tiegs and many other celebs, and will premiere on Syfy on Sunday, July 31 at 8/7c.
