Scott Patterson Says Gilmore Girls Revial is ‘Fuller, Longer, Deeper’

Recommended Videos

It’s almost here! It’s almost here! We’re just a few days away from binging our first Gilmore Girls episode in nearly a decade. Yes, four brand new, 90-minute episodes taking place in the fall, winter, summer and spring will be here before you know. The Netflix revival isn’t so much a full-on reboot, as it is a peak into the lives of our favorite Gilmore family during this one-year period. Most of your favorites are heading back to Stars Hollow including Alexis Bledel, Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson, Melissa McCarthy, Jared Padalecki, Keiko Agenda and Milo Ventimiglia.

With the excitement brewing, the only thing that can hinder this festive feeling is if the show….was not good. But not to worry! Patterson, who plays Luke, says you don’t have to worry about that. “The writing is so good,” he told TVLine. That’s probably because creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is at the helm once again.

“It feel like the old team got back together, and we still got it,” he added. “In fact, maybe we’re better than we ever were. I don’t know if I did this kind of work [during the original series’ run from] 2000 to 2007. And maybe that’s because of the freedom Amy and Dan had with writing 150-page scripts. It was fuller. It was longer. It was deeper. We could go places that we probably wanted to go in the series but couldn’t go. Now we could go there.” Degrassi, is that you?

A Year in the Life heads to Netflix on November 25.
