‘Practically sentient, like it had a credit score’: Woman says she was blamed for an airport toilet she never even used

Navigating public restrooms while traveling is already an exercise in guarded optimism. But one traveler’s quick stop to change her pad allegedly turned into a mortifying frame-up, after she found an airport stall already in a disastrous state.

TikTok creator Sara shared the travel ordeal in a video that has pulled in thousands of views from horrified and sympathetic viewers. While waiting at an international departure terminal to fly back to the United States, Sara said she urgently needed to change her menstrual pad.

But instead of a clean, empty toilet, Sara allegedly opened the stall door to discover an overflowing mountain of waste. She decided to handle her business standing up and attempted a discreet exit right after. But she walked straight into a waiting woman who took one look inside the stall and immediately blamed her for the wreckage.

Sara opened the airport stall to find herself face-to-face with a restroom disaster

Describing the terminal facilities as a frantic rush, Sara claimed that she ducked into the restroom only to change her pad. With long queues behind her, she grabbed the only open door. “It was a congregation of turds. It was practically sentient, like it had a credit score,” Sara recounted with deadpan theatricality.

Airport restrooms have been the setting for other mortifying travel moments, including a California woman who said a stall door that wouldn’t latch left her exposed to another passenger. Sara’s problem was what had been left behind.

“Now, had this been a single turd, right, an only child, I would have begrudgingly done my civic duty, and I would have flushed it with my foot. However, this thing was so filled to the brim, I knew that if I flushed it, the toilet would overflow,” Sara claimed.

Sara did not actually need to relieve herself at the airport stall. She swiftly swapped out her personal care items without making contact with the fixture and turned to leave. However, escaping the stall undetected proved impossible, as an older woman was waiting right outside the door and stepped in the second Sara vacated the space.

Before Sara could even make it to the sinks, a loud, horrified screech allegedly echoed across the floor. “Ayyyy! What kind of an animal does this and doesn’t even bother to clean up after themselves?!” the elderly woman reportedly shouted, drawing the eyes of the entire room.

Hearing the scream, the woman’s daughter also reportedly looked inside and visibly recoiled. She then allegedly stared straight back at Sara in complete horror. Sara was paralyzed by the sudden spotlight, and she admitted that at this point, she found herself completely unable to mount a defense.

“She covers her mouth in disgust. [Whispering in horror] It wasn’t me! No, no, no, no way! But what am I supposed to do? I can’t explain the situation because they just witnessed me walk out of the scene of the crime,” she lamented. Panicking, Sara simply washed her hands at lightning speed and fled the restroom.

Public restroom mishaps have left others just as eager to escape, including a man who said he fled a Costco bathroom in a panic with someone waiting outside the stall. Unlike him, Sara insists the mess she left behind was never hers.
