Philadelphia woman put a pregnancy test on the counter at Dollar Tree. Then the cashier walked her to the back of the store: ‘She overly involved’

A Dollar Tree employee is going viral on TikTok for "assisting" a customer

A Dollar Store employee had the strangest way of showing top-tier customer service to Jahnell (@jahnell.anya on TikTok). It seems that the employee also wanted to know if Jahnell tested positive on her pregnancy test.

Jahnell, who is from Philadelphia, posted a TikTok captioned, “Throwback to that one time I went to Dollar Tree for a pregnancy test and the cashier said she could “feel” that I was and took me to the back to take the test there.”

The most people get is the usual nonchalant look, with employees asking if the customer wants to tip. Instead, the Dollar Store employee opened the restroom for Jahnell and appeared to go in with her. Needless to say, the dedication to customer service from that Dollar Store employee is unmatched.

Social media had a good laugh with the TikTok. One commenter from Jahnell’s video wrote, “Me if I was bored at work.”

Someone from TikTok joked, “She said, ‘Let’s find out together.'”

Another said, “I love unprofessionalism.” Maybe because she definitely wanted to know the tea. But most Dollar Store employees won’t give access to their restrooms, so for a bit of tea, it’s not a bad trade.

Perhaps what made TikTok users even more perplexed at the situation is that Jahnell looked like she went in the restroom. Assuming that Jahnell did test positive, will the Dollar Store employee be invited to the baby shower? Is the Dollar Store employee now a victim of accidental acquisition as the honorary auntie of this child? Everyone’s got so many questions about this out-of-context video.

Jokes aside, hopefully, the employee didn’t stay when Jahnell stopped filming. Nevertheless, the video went viral and gained nearly two million likes on the platform.

Dollar Store mystery solved

It was a brief video, but everyone who’s interacted with Jahnell’s post had one question everyone wanted to know the answer to: Is she pregnant? Is the internet throwing a disastrous baby shower and gender reveal? The additional caption of the original video indicated that it mentioned a “birthday,” but it didn’t confirm a thing. In a follow-up video, Jahnell posted her test result.

The long and short of it is that she isn’t, but social media has been posting memes. One TikTok user modified a screenshot of the post, adding an extra red line to the test. Another said, “I’m just as disappointed as the cashier.”

Meanwhile, another TikTok user said, “Congratulations, Mama. My “faint line” is now 2 years old. Good luck.” This post is a friendly reminder never to take just one test—make it three just to be extra sure. False positives are disappointing, but false negatives might give any woman a heart attack.

It seems like TikTok is dedicated to scaring Jahnell, but she’s obviously in the clear.

Nosey employees

Putting the scare posts aside, one TikTok user said this about her Dollar Tree experience. She wrote on Jahnell’s first video, “I bought a pregnancy test from dollar tree once & when the cashier handed it to me she said, ‘Here you go, mama.'”

Are Dollar Tree employees bored, or do they just live for the tea? Do they expect to get a tip out of the extra service? Either way, who would’ve thought Dollar Tree had better hospitality than most Brooklyn coffee shops?
