Bong Joon Ho’s Okja is one of my most highly anticipated Netflix films this month. The story centers around “A gentle giant and the girl who raised her” after they are “caught in the crossfire between animal activism, corporate greed and scientific ethics.”

I’m especially excited to see the young girl, Mija, played by An Seo Hyun, in a starring action role. “Mija, the character, when a corporation tears her best friend Okja away from her, she’s willing to take on the entire world to get her back,” says Steven Yeun who plays “K.” From the scenes we see in this featurette, she really does take on the whole world, storming into intimidating corporation buildings, holding onto moving cars, and just being a general badass as she jumps on Okja’s back and runs off.

“Mija’s really the heart of the film. She’s bold and boundary-less. Just one extraordinary character in that way,” says Jake Gyllenhaal who plays Dr. Johnny Wilcox. “It’s going to be extraordinary to see her do the impossible.”

What do you think about Mija from what we’ve seen so far? Are you excited for Okja?
