Wonderful Human Being John Boyega Visits Sick Children in Hospital, Throws Star Wars Themed Party

Here’s your regular reminder that John Boyega is a wonderful human being. He paid a visit to Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which is a care home for children in need of end-of-life care. He surprised the kids by showing up during a Star Wars-themed party. You can see in the video above that not only did he visit the children, but he toured the facility, and took a lot of time to listen to the doctors and nurses who worked there. Of his visit to Demelza, Boyega said, “I’d heard about the great work of Demelza so couldn’t wait to visit and help make some dreams come true. I was blown away by the children and the nurses who do such a fantastic job of caring for them.”

I’m not sure what it is, but Boyega just seems to be great with kids. More than that, he just seems to be great in general. He has, after all, visited hospitals before. There was that time he visited a the Royal London hospital completely in costume and in character as Finn. He walked around there, as well, hanging out with a little Rey and a little Stormtrooper. The little Rey, named Layla, asked Boyega where Rey was, and Boyega–completely in character, mind you–said he didn’t know, he got beat by Kylo, and woke up elsewhere. Layla replied, “Okay, I’ll be your Rey today.” Cue heart melting.

You can read more about his visit to Demelza over on the Demelza blog, which also has reactions from the children’s parents.
