JD Vance Says He is Focused on Doing ‘As Much of God’s Work as Possible’, Then Mentions He is ‘Okay’ if That Leads to the ‘End Times’

Netizens are sounding alarms over a comment JD Vance recently made. Appearing on the August 31, 2026, episode of the Bryce Crawford Podcast, Vance briefly spoke about the “end times,” offering his take.
In a short clip from the interview that has been shared across social media, Vance says he is focused on doing “as much of God’s work as possible right now.” Then he utters the magic words that have caused concern. He says, “And if that leads to the end times, okay,” before adding, “and if that leads to, you know, us building a better world that thrives and survives for a very long time after I’m gone, that’s great, too.”
While Vance’s intentions might not have been to say that his actions would lead to the “end times,” his phrasing sure makes it look like he said that, and people in the comments reacted accordingly. One user wrote under a post, “Well since he’s working for the Antichrist, yep, checks out.” Another individual wrote, “Here’s Vance invoking the end times like it’s a campaign slogan. He should read the Book.”
This isn’t the first time Vance’s words have made waves online. Earlier this year, Vance drew social media pushback for comments about his wife, likening their “arrangement” to how he deals with Iran.
Vance Expressed Ambiguity Over The “End Times”
When Crawford asked Vance whether he thought we were in the “end times,” his reply was a stern “I don’t know.” He then added that it wasn’t healthy for him personally to focus too much on it because he had a few things to take care of. One would think he would talk about the war in Iran or rising costs in America, but no, that’s not it.
He said, “And I think that it’s probably bad for me spiritually to focus too much on it because there are like, things you got to do. I got to be good to my wife. I got to be good to my kids. I have to be, you know, a as good of a leader as I can for the United States of America. And so I think that…while I’m fascinated by it, I think focusing on it…can be very bad.”
What Are The “End Times?”
In the Bible, the “end times,” the “last days,” or “the end of the world” refers to a series of events associated with the end of the world. Some of these occurrences include large-scale wars, famine, earthquakes, disease, crime, the breakdown of the family, and “widespread apathy and ridicule,” according to Jehovah’s Witnesses. Org.
