‘He’s an Unqualified Man’: AOC Makes Pointed Remarks at Pete Hegseth’s Refusal to Promote Women of Color, Says It is Because He’s Threatened by Them

Although it has been a while since news broke about Pete Hegseth’s alleged involvement in the promotion process within the Department of War, AOC is commenting on the issue after a journalist asked her about it.
An article published by NPR on March 27, 2026, states that, citing information from anonymous internal sources, Pete Hegseth has allegedly been withholding promotions of Black people and women in the defense forces. The source reports that he has blocked the promotions of multiple service members in high ranks, including four Army officers, two female soldiers, and two Black men. Other major news outlets, including The New York Times, have corroborated this information.

In a video widely shared on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), uploaded by Meidas Touch, AOC explains that Pete Hegseth’s refusal to promote women of color within the Department of War stems from his being unqualified for his current position. She also mentions that one of the reasons he engaged in such behavior is because he felt threatened by these women of color, who she says are “twice as good” as he is.
Speaking of AOC, a few months ago, she stated that her priority was not to run for president in 2028 but to change the world.
Regarding the NPR article, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell dismissed rumors that Hegseth was withholding promotions of people of color and women, stating, “Under Secretary Hegseth, military promotions are given to those who have earned them. Meritocracy, which reigns in this Department, is apolitical and unbiased.”

In an early New Hampshire poll, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) emerged as the most popular Democratic Party candidate, with 22 percent saying they would vote for her if she decides to run in the 2028 presidential elections. She was closely followed by Pete Buttigieg, who received 21 percent of the votes. Mark Kelly, Gavin Newsom, Bernie Sanders, and Kamala Harris received 9 percent, 8 percent, 6 percent, and 5 percent of the vote, respectively.

When a journalist asked AOC to comment on this poll, she expressed her gratitude and said, “Well, I feel very deeply flattered and humbled. I don’t want to discount how supportive people have been. It genuinely is very meaningful. We also want to make sure that we’re making decisions that put the country first. So I’m just thankful for the support.”
