Okay, we admit, we missed this one. The fifteenth anniversary of the original air date of the first episode of The Powerpuff Girls was last Monday! SalBa Combé and some friends got together and created this tribute to the show’s opening sequence.

One more year and the show will be able to get its learners permit. Anyone care to mention another American action cartoon where all of the action leads were women since? Anyone care to count the number of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, alone, in the intervening years? Yeah, I don’t like to either. Happy birthday, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
