FBI official stuns the room by going silent over an Antifa-related question

Since coming to power, the Donald Trump administration has identified Antifa as a terrorist organization and has repeatedly mentioned it to gain favor with their dedicated MAGA crowd. However, when asked basic questions about the nature of their crimes or even their whereabouts, they seem clueless. Could it be because they don’t know, or are there other reasons? Well, I don’t know; I am not the expert here.

On December 12, 2025, FBI National Security Branch Operations Director Michael Glasheen was left speechless during a U.S. Homeland Security Committee meeting in Washington, D.C., when he was asked by U.S. Representative for Mississippi’s 2nd congressional district, Bennie Thompson, to give clear answers about Antifa.

During the meeting, Glasheen boldly claimed that the FBI shared similar views with Donald Trump regarding his announcement of an executive order that the domestic organisation Antifa is the FBI’s “primary concern” right now. Glasheen added to his approval of Trump’s efforts and said, “When you look at the data right now, you look at the domestic terrorist threat we’re facing, right now, what I see from my position is that’s the most immediate violent threat that we are facing on the domestic side,” prompting Thompson to cross-question him and ask where Antifa was headquartered, which left Glasheen almost speechless before he started to say, “What we’re doing right now with the organization…”

However, Glasheen was cut off before he could finish by Thompson, for trying to deflect the question, and was asked to answer directly and disclose the details of Antifa’s location if the United States and the FBI had identified it as a top threat. Glasheen hesitated to answer again and gave a response that wasn’t much of an answer but one given when there are no answers to a question. He said that the FBI was “building out the infrastructure right now,” to which Thompson told Glasheen to tell the committee how they concluded that Antifa was one of the biggest security threats to the United States, where they existed, and how many members they had in the United States as of now. Glasheen gave a very hesitant response to the question, saying, “Well, it’s very fluid,” which pushed Thompson to further question Glasheen on his statements and beliefs that do not have solid evidential grounds. Thompson concluded his grilling session by saying:

Sir, you wouldn’t come to this committee and say something you can’t prove, I know. I knew you wouldn’t do that. But you did.”

As videos of the incident circulated on social media, many people poked fun at Michael Glasheen and applauded Bennie Thompson for their eventful interaction.
