Woman from Boston was watching a movie with her son. Then, he asked a suspicious question: ‘When is Dada going to kill me?’
A mother's worst nightmare.
Sierra (@sierrandipity) from Boston, Massachusetts, was watching a movie with her young son. Their night took a dark turn after her son asked her an unsettling question about his dad.
“Mommy, when is Dada going to kill me?” Sierra recalled her four-year-old son’s alleged statement on TikTok. The next morning, she took her son to the pediatrician’s office and spoke to the social worker.
“The social worker asked what media he’s exposed to,” she added. Sierra said the social worker found her son’s language atypical for a four-year-old. But she replied, “I don’t know. He watches Supper Kitties and Sonic. He likes Paw Patrol.” She added that her son’s father has allowed him to watch The Simpsons, Independence Day, and Dragon Ball Z, to name a few. The latter shows often require parental supervision because they feature mature content. Sierra told the social worker that her son could have learned from these shows.
“She said that I need to co-parent better with him and communicate with him when our child discloses these things,” Sierra alleged. The mother suggested showing the social worker her text messages with her ex to show that she has been communicating with him. Sierra claimed that while she has confronted her ex about her son’s disturbing words, her ex allegedly denied the allegations.
He still has custody
“So, the days following that night, my son asked me a couple more times when his father is going to kill him,” she claimed. Sierra also said that her son, at one point, told her that “sometimes” his father wants to kill him, and sometimes he doesn’t. She dropped her son off a day ago, and during a call, Sierra had to walk her child through his confusion.
Sierra said she has taught her son the difference between good and bad people. Simply put, she said bad people hurt other people. Her son, during the call, said, “Dada is not a bad guy. But why does he hurt me?”
She replied, “That’s a great question, honey. I don’t know.” Sierra feels helpless about their situation, saying she already spoke to social workers and the police. The Department of Children & Families (DCF) has also allegedly been involved in their case. However, Sierra said that the judge kept granting her son’s father custody.
“Because in the state that we reside, the court will not take a child from their parent, even if they’re unsafe, even if the child is terrified of that parent. They will not take the child from the parent unless that parent causes significant bodily injury to the child,” Sierra tearfully alleged. Her clip went viral on social media, with commenters suggesting next steps.
She’s determined to fight for her son
One commenter wrote, “Put him into therapy. The therapist is a mandatory reporter. The therapist is an independent 3rd party.” Others also told Sierra to document everything her son says.
Sierra is looking for a lawyer to help her fight, fearing for her son’s safety. She has also started a GoFundMe to help with her child’s legal fees. At times, the best course of action a parent can take is to leave their child with someone they can trust. But unfortunately for this woman in California, taking custody of her sister’s kids came at the cost of her first and second marriage.
