Delta traveler lands in Mexico City. Then a crew member admits he allegedly took her photo while she was sleeping
That has to be violation

A woman who flew to Mexico City via Delta has called out the airline over an alleged incident involving a male flight attendant that was “super inappropriate” and “illegal.” In a TikTok video, Tasia Jewel (tasiajewelx) said she had the “weirdest experience” with the attendant, who allegedly took her picture while she was fast asleep and told her about it as she exited the aircraft. What’s more? He also supposedly suggested that he would post the photograph on Facebook.
According to Jewel, the other male flight attendants standing with him did not protest. “And another, the male, um, flight attendants were laughing, and one of them went, ‘Yeah, she was knocked out,’” Jewel said. She said she felt extremely disturbed by the interaction but left the aircraft without taking any action at the time, in utter disbelief.
Jewel, who exclusively flies Delta, said she was very tired before the flight after recently attending the Formula One race in Austin, Texas, not having gone home, and being scheduled to host a trip in Mexico City. “It’s tiring. So I slept. The flight was about three hours. I slept for, like, an hour and a half, maybe an hour and 40 minutes.”
An incident that warranted attention
Jewel did not deserve to be treated that way in a space that was supposed to be safe for her, but she was. For whatever reason, she may not have acted in the moment, but she later filed a claim, as she mentioned in her video’s caption. According to Delta’s website, those with complaints about the airline can fill out a general Feedback Form and submit it.
Jewel said she posted the video to reach Delta more quickly, so the airline would take action against the attendant and prevent similar incidents from happening to her or others. Emphasizing how the experience “ruined” her day, Jewel suggested firing the attendant. She ended her video by advising women to stay safe while traveling. It is unfortunate that women so often bear the burden of their own safety, leaving them constantly anxious and suspicious of their surroundings. Still, situational awareness has helped women on more than one occasion.
For instance, a woman shared on TikTok that while she was at the beach with her almost-two-year-old child, a stranger standing nearby began acting strangely. Suspecting something was wrong, she said she shouted for her husband, who was a little way off. The man then left, sparing them from a situation that could easily have become frightening.
A welcome update
Jewel updated the caption on her video to say that Delta was investigating her case. “They have been nothing but kind in handling the situation,” she wrote in the caption.
Despite the support Jewel received from the Delta team, some commenters questioned her account. One person wrote, “Ok you was really tired because they don’t even wear the same color uniforms as mainline Delta. That’s our co-share Aeromexico.” In a separate video, Jewel responded to comments like these, reaffirming that her experience was real, showing proof, and urging commenters not to dismiss it simply because they hadn’t witnessed it themselves.
Jewel has yet to provide another update on the issue, but based on her account of how things are being handled, she appears content with the response.
