Seth MacFarlane Says Cosmos May Return for a Second Season, Asks Fans to Tweet Tyson If They Want More

Hold onto your starstuff, space fans! According to producer Seth MacFarlane, the Fox and National Geographic reboot of Cosmos could be coming back for a second season, eclipsing the run of Carl Sagan’s groundbreaking ’80s original series.

Judging from MacFarlane’s tweet, the show’s return could depend less on ratings (last season saw at least three million viewers per week) and more on Tyson’s interest. Considering the love of science that the show helped generate and the scope of topics a second season could cover, I hope America’s favorite space cowboy is up for round two. More Tyson in our lives is always a good thing. Case in point:
