Between Viral Clapbacks and Digs at the Trump Family, Hunter Biden Is Launching an Aggressive Campaign to Rewrite His Legacy
Hunter has lots to say.

Hunter Biden is back, and he’s not holding back. After years of staying quiet on social media, the former first son has launched an aggressive charm offensive on X, racking up nearly half a million followers in just a month. His posts, a mix of raw honesty, sharp humor, and pointed jabs at critics, are rewriting the narrative around his past while throwing shade at the Trump family. And if the internet’s reaction is any indication, it’s working.
According to the NY Post, the comeback started with a simple post celebrating seven years of sobriety. When a user accused him of leaving a bag of cocaine in the West Wing back in 2023, Hunter fired back with a reply that quickly went viral: “It most definitely was not. I would never have forgotten my drugs.” The clapback earned over 242,000 likes, proving that his dry wit and unfiltered honesty resonate with a lot of people.
A few days later, he took aim at a photoshopped image of himself with a drug pipe in his mouth, calling out the inaccuracies with a mix of humor and exasperation. “I know this may sound petty, but I can’t stand it when people… photoshop a meth pipe in my mouth,” he wrote.
Hunter’s witty responses are going viral
“A crack pipe doesn’t have that little bowl at the end. This is why we can’t trust AI. Please make the appropriate edit. Thank you for your attention to this matter.” The post, a response to a mock 2028 campaign poster with the tagline “Let’s smoke the competition,” racked up another 146,000 likes.
But Hunter isn’t just here for the jokes. He’s also using his platform to speak candidly about his struggles with addiction, sharing details that are as painful as they are relatable. In one post, he wrote, “There was zero glory in my addiction. It was truly the most excruciatingly humiliating and degrading experience you could possibly imagine. I wanted to commit s*****e almost daily, but didn’t have the courage for even that.”
He continued, “Instead I’d reach for the pipe or the bottle. The cowards [sic] way out. The guilt. The shame. The hurt. The absolute misery of it. Yet here I am. And I am not alone. There are millions upon millions of us. We don’t all agree on politics or people or who we root for on Sunday. But we all have the shared experience of walking through that fire and surviving. I chose to live. That’s not a joke.”
His willingness to lay it all out there has struck a chord with followers, many of whom have praised him for his transparency. But Hunter’s not just talking about his past. He’s also using his platform to defend his family and call out what he sees as hypocrisy in the media and among political opponents. Case in point: his recent feud with CNN anchor Jake Tapper.
Tapper recently criticized Jill Biden’s new memoir View from the East Wing
According to Reality Tea, Tapper called Jill’s defense of Joe Biden’s mental and physical fitness during the summer of 2024 “very difficult to believe, if not just downright false.” Hunter didn’t take the criticism lightly. In a scathing post, he wrote, “So let me get this straight. Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom.”
“Jared and Ivanka are building a private island paradise on Albanian protected land,” he wrote. “Don Jr married the daughter of Epstein’s banker, and a startup his fund backs just got a record $620M Pentagon loan. Eric is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5B in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted. And I know: ‘But what about your paintings, Hunter?’ Please.”
The dig at his own past, specifically, the controversy over his six-figure art sales, was a clear attempt to flip the script. Critics have long accused him of using his art to trade on his father’s name, but Hunter’s response suggests he’s tired of being the only one under scrutiny. And he’s not stopping there.
In another post, he laid out what sounded suspiciously like a campaign platform, touching on issues like grocery prices, tariffs, border security, and endless wars. “Groceries cost too much. Tariffs suck and make no sense,” he wrote. “The border should be secure, but legal immigration is good. Endless wars are stupid, especially ones that nobody wants and have never been explained. Americans are exhausted.”
Even Trump has taken notice
When asked about speculation that Hunter might run in 2028, the President didn’t hold back. “You would think that the past has something to do with winning an election. And I would say his past is not the greatest,” he said before adding, “Hey, if the guy from Maine [Graham Platner] can do well, I guess Hunter could do well.”
Hunter’s response was swift and biting: “Did he just say checkered past? I’m 28 felonies, 6 bankruptcies, and an Epstein bromance short of his checkered past.”
It’s clear that Hunter’s social media revival isn’t just about sharing his story but about reclaiming his narrative and pushing back against the people and institutions he feels have unfairly targeted him. And while some might see his posts as a distraction or even a liability for his father’s administration, there’s no denying that his approach is resonating with a lot of people.
Nearly 500 posts in, he’s made it clear he’s not going anywhere. As he warned his followers early on, “This crackhead has a lot to say so buckle your seat belt my friend.”
