Atlanta Woman Orders a 6-Ounce Filet at LongHorn Steakhouse. Then It Arrives Looking Nothing Like She Expected: ‘So They Went Down’
Some deals might be better left off TikTok

LongHorn Steakhouse is known for grilled steaks, with everything from sirloins to bigger cuts on its menu. But lately, the size of what actually arrives on the plate has become part of the conversation, too. And when customers already have a certain portion in mind, even a few ounces can make a noticeable difference.
Atlanta TikTok creator Nae (@grow.with.nae) thought she knew what she was getting when she ordered a kids’ steak at LongHorn Steakhouse. But the steak that arrived looked a lot smaller than what she remembered. Considering customers have already been questioning LongHorn’s steak portions, Nae had her own idea about what changed.
And she didn’t exactly blame the restaurant at first. Instead, Nae pointed at the people who helped turn the kids’ steak into an online food hack. After all, when even a 6-ounce LongHorn steak can leave customers questioning its size, losing two ounces is going to be hard to miss.
Well, the Secret’s Out
“See what the f*** y’all done did?” Nae says while pointing at the steak on her plate. “Y’all done promoted that kids steak on TikTok too motherf***ing much.”
According to Nae, the kids’ steak used to come in a 6-ounce portion. Now, she claims LongHorn has cut it down to four. “So they went down from the 6 ounce to the 4 ounce,” she adds.
LongHorn’s current online menu does list its Kid’s Sirloin as a 4-ounce steak. The meal comes with a choice of side and is currently listed at $10.99, though pricing can vary by location.
The 6-ounce version had previously attracted attention online for a pretty simple reason: price. People discovered they could order a kids’ sirloin and get a smaller meal without paying the price of an adult steak. Videos about the order eventually spread across TikTok, with some adults treating it as a way to spend less at LongHorn.
Nae apparently thinks all that attention may have helped bring the deal to an end. Still, the smaller portion wasn’t actually too small for her. “It’s still was more than enough for me tho,” she wrote in the caption.
Her video has since picked up more than 39,000 views, and plenty of viewers immediately knew what she was talking about. Some believed adults ordering from the kids’ menu were exactly why the portion had changed.
“Bc adults kept ordering off the kids menu,” one person wrote. “Some people just don’t know how to be quiet!” another joked.
Others weren’t particularly upset about the supposed change. “Its cause its for a KID,” one viewer pointed out, while another wrote, “Adults ordering off the kids menu is crazy. Not even allowed at my restaurant.”
A few commenters identifying themselves as LongHorn workers also backed up the idea that the kids’ portions had changed. One wrote, “as a LH server thats exactly what happened,” before claiming the steaks are now so small that they feel bad bringing them to the table.
“I work for Longhorn. That’s the exact reason,” another commenter claimed. According to that person, the chain also made its kids’ burgers smaller.
Those comments don’t confirm why LongHorn changed the steak size. The company currently advertises a 4-ounce kids’ sirloin, but it has not publicly said that TikTok or adults ordering from the children’s menu was the reason behind the change.
Whatever prompted it, Nae’s video shows the downside of a restaurant hack becoming a little too well known. The smaller steak was still enough for her, but the 6-ounce kids’ order people had been talking about online doesn’t appear to be the deal it once was.
