The Akira Trailer With Simpsons Characters Is the Only Akira Adaptation We Need

While the potential live-action Akira movie still looms ominously on the horizon, we’d much rather watch this Simpsons version. It’ll probably wind up being truer to the original in the long run anyway.

In the days of old, deep in the dredges of the “Do the Bartman” VHS, there was a trailer.

In partnership with Chicken Tonight, Butterfinger, and CC Lemon, the early 90s execs of Fox and Toho made an animated short. An attempt to appeal to American consumers without having to spend a lot of money. Until a changing of the guard decided the kids needed more Poochie and it was lost…until today.

Dan is many things, including a game developer, animator, martial artist, and at least semi-professional pancake chef. He lives in North Carolina with Lisa Brown (his wife) and Liz Lemon (his dog), both of whom are the best, and he will never stop reminding The Last Jedi's detractors that Luke Skywalker's pivotal moment in Return of the Jedi was literally throwing his lightsaber away and refusing to fight.
