Her dog kept barking at the Uber Eats delivery men, but it was probably for the best.

After her Uber Eats arrived, her dog went ballistic at the door. There were two delivery drivers

Ang (@aksoekoro) took to TikTok after an uncanny experience with Uber Eats. She unexpectedly opened the door to two delivery drivers.

“This is a PSA to any woman who orders Uber Eats, DoorDash—any type of food delivery service. So, please be careful,” Ang warned on TikTok. She alleged that when she used Uber Eats, she didn’t receive a text or a phone call from her delivery driver.

“Also, in my Uber Eats instructions, it says, ‘Please leave at my door. Do not knock,'” she added. Ang emphasized that her dog would start barking non-stop if someone knocked on her door. But in hindsight, she was grateful the men failed to follow through with her instructions.

“I got the notification on my phone that my food was here. I hear a knock on my door. My dog goes ballistic. He starts barking his head off,” Ang said. When she opened the door, two men were waiting for her to take her delivery. Ang said she only ordered one bowl of pho, which wasn’t a big order. It was incomparable to the monstrous carrot cake a woman from California ordered from DoorDash. Instead, Ang’s order was for one person.

“In my brain, I’m like, freaking out. I grab the food, shut the door, lock it. But they probably saw that. One, I had a girl’s name. And then, number two, it was a singular order. They probably assumed I was alone,” Ang alleged. She acknowledged that she might be reacting disproportionately to the situation, but she was confused as to why two men made her delivery instead of one. Furthermore, Ang was disturbed that they didn’t follow her instructions to leave her food at the door.

Reporting the incident to Uber Eats

An hour later, Ang said she went downstairs and spoke to the woman at the apartment front desk. Ang told the woman she was concerned that she had just let two men up to her apartment without informing her. However, Ang alleged that the woman didn’t seem to care about her concern. But not all front desk representatives are lax about their buildings. At a Best Western Hotel in Tennessee, one front desk employee proactively helped her guest get away from the men who bothered her during her stay. Regardless, Ang reported the matter to Uber Eats.

“And then I reached out to Uber Eats, let them know about the situation. The two people—neither of them looks like the guy in the profile picture of the Uber Eats delivery driver,” Ang claimed. The representative responded, saying they would remind the Uber Eats driver about the community guidelines.

“I also went downstairs and told our property manager,” Ang said. She noted that the property manager was alarmed by her report. However, the steps he took to address the matter were unclear.

“With everything happening to women nowadays, like, please be mindful. And I think, what if it was someone who didn’t have a dog with a big, scary bark? What if it was someone who couldn’t defend themselves?” Ang expressed. Because of what happened, Ang said she changed her name on Uber Eats but is hesitant to order from delivery apps again.

“You never think things are going to happen to you until they happen to you,” she said. Anything can happen, and a woman from New York City was randomly chased by a man walking down the street.
