A Woman From Boston Just Got Married in Italy. Then a Man at the Restaurant ‘Tested’ Her Loyalty
After getting 'tested' by her childhood celebrity crush, she almost met her maker after their honeymoon snorkeling adventure went awry.
Childhood crushes often fade in time. Scarlet (@chronicallygirl) from Boston recently got married but said her loyalty was immediately ‘tested’ after she bumped into her childhood celebrity crush during her honeymoon.
“So, I got married in Italy,” Scarlet prefaced her story on TikTok. She had never been to Italy before, and they decided to spend their honeymoon in the country. She was proud to be married to her husband, even showing the camera her diamond stack ring. On the first day of their honeymoon, Scarlet said she went with her husband to a property she had always wanted to go to.
“I’m out on the town, wearing my wedding band for the first time since we got married. Who do I lock eyes with?” Scarlet said she went into the restaurant of the hotel and claimed she locked eyes with her childhood celebrity crush, Joe Jonas. She said that although she liked Nick Jonas more as a child, her fangirling slightly shifted to his brother, Joe, once she got older.
“I was always Nick. I may or may not have a cardboard cutout in my room,” she said of Nick. Essentially, Scarlet was a diehard Jonas Brothers fangirl. “The sun was going down, I was in a killer outfit,” she added. It looked like the beginning of a romcom, but Scarlet was already married, and she held herself back.
“I love you, and we just got married, and I’m loyal,” Scarlet told her husband as they walked past Joe Jonas to check in for their dinner reservation. At first, she said her husband was confused. Then, she clarified that they just walked past Joe, and her husband closed his eyes and sighed.
Dining near her celebrity crush ‘tested’ her
“I don’t really get starstruck. I wasn’t going to go talk to him and ask for a photo or something—that is not my vibe,” Scarlet clarified. However, she said that she felt excited to be dining in the same place as Joe. Scarlet thought that would be her first and last time seeing Joe in the flesh, but she would briefly bump into him yet again on the second day of her honeymoon.
“We’re walking into the lobby, trying to schedule a car for one of our little excursions,” she said. Again, like clockwork, Joe allegedly showed up once again. She observed the staff taking pictures with Joe and overheard that he was checking out of the hotel.
“Thank god, my marriage is no longer being tested,” she quipped. Her husband also mentioned that he allegedly bumped into the star in the bathroom. He believes Joe liked his outfit because the star “kind of checked him out.”
“I’ve never been so jealous in my life,” Scarlet commented. But her honeymoon woes did not end after Joe left the building. She and her husband were supposed to go island hopping in Portofino, and they were going to snorkel near a submerged statue of Jesus. Scarlet thought it would go without a hitch until a wardrobe malfunction almost made her meet her maker.
She was safe from Joe Jonas, but not from saltwater
Scarlet said she had no “weirdness” with water, so she was eager to go snorkeling with the rest of her group. She got a snorkeling mask that covered her face, which she thought would be perfect for keeping the water out. She held her husband’s hand, and they jumped together into the water.
“As soon as I hit the water, bam! Top goes up, itty-bitty committee out for everyone in this cove to see, and Jesus directly below me or in front of me as I’m sinking, top at my face,” Scarlet said. Her bikini top covered her face and got stuck on her snorkeling gear. To make matters worse, she said the mask was not airtight and was immediately filled with saltwater.
Instead of panicking, she decided to float up. The saltwater in her mask went to her eyes, and as it burned, she remembered to remove the mask. When she took the mask off, she stopped drowning, and she was able to fix her top. Then, her husband bopped out of the water, seemingly oblivious to what just transpired.
“Isn’t this amazing? Did you see the Christ statue?” Her husband supposedly told her, giddy about what he had seen underwater. But Scarlet has gone through the wringer, and it’s only been two days into her honeymoon. According to Scarlet’s account, Joe Jonas was no longer present in the scene, which is a small mercy after her wardrobe mishap. She had it better than this bride, whose dress had a slip-up during the wedding itself.
