Air Canada forces her to check her BEÍS carry-on. When she gets it back, all her valuables are gone: ‘LV, Dior, Hermes that we bought in Greece’

No one knows the panic of missing checked bags like fellow travelers. After they are delivered intact, relief washes over us. This was the case for a group of Air Canada passengers, until their BÉIS luggage arrived without their name-brand valuables inside.
What Went Missing On Their Air Canada Flight?
While group member Czar (@czvrlene) posted the video, a man filmed her and a female friend speaking with a Toronto Pearson International Airport employee.
“We got our goods stolen from Athens. Everything is missing,” the man says, walking toward the women. “Everything’s missing.”
“Why would they take that?” the friend asks, unzipping her light pink BÉIS suitcase. To make matters worse, it appears the products are designer. The man pauses in front of the receipts stacked on another light pink BÉIS suitcase with a Dior one poking out from underneath. As the friend opens her baggage, the male airport employee attempts to reassure her.
How Did The Situation Transpire?
According to the caption, the whole ordeal was unsteady from the beginning until the moment the video captured opening the suitcase. Czar elaborates on the situation: “Our flight was delayed, causing us to miss our connecting flight. We then had to wait almost 14 HOURS for the next available flight. When we finally arrived in Toronto, 3 of our 5 pieces of luggage were missing. We had 5 bags total—3 carry-ons and 2 checked bags. We waited approximately 3 HOURS at the airport just for them to locate our missing luggage.”
She continues, “When we finally got the first 2 bags, we immediately noticed they felt way too light. We opened them right there at the airport, in front of the airport staff, our valuables were GONE. Someone had opened our luggage and taken our belongings!!!! Air Canada forced us to check our carry-ons. We would have obviously kept our valuables with us if we had the choice. Instead, we were forced to hand over our carry-ons, and now we’re dealing with our luggage being opened and our belongings being stolen.”
In the comments section, Czar shares that “LV, Dior, Hermes that we bought in Greece” mysteriously disappeared.
In a follow-up video, Czar claims the tampering occurred after the luggage was checked despite it being locked.
Viewers Are Aghast
The incident amassed 1.2 million views and shockwaves in her comments section.
“The fact that you shouldn’t be having to worry about EMPLOYEES STEALING FROM [YOUR] LUGGAGE. [There are] cameras everywhere wtf,” one viewer commented.
“You do in fact deserve answers and reimbursement, but someone else deserves punishment. I’m sorry, but a customer should be able to put a zillion dollars in their checked bags and not worry about thieves taking it,” a second echoed.
“Man f** them, I hope you get answers. These airlines are always making excuses,” a third remarked.
“OMG… im so sorry this happened to you. I truly hope Air Canada can find a solution for you guys,” a fourth stated.
What Can The Group Do?
While there isn’t a specific tab regarding stolen items, the best bet would be for them to report the incident to Toronto Pearson International Airport. Then, they can submit a claim to Air Canada under “Baggage Issues.”
However, the Government of Canada notes that compensation has a limit regardless of the belongings’ value. To err on the side of caution, CNBC recommends credit travel insurance, though certain exclusions and reimbursement may apply.
As of this writing, the status of the situation remains unknown.
@czvrlene ? AIR CANADA, WE NEED ANSWERS. ? Please help us repost/share this so Air Canada sees this. ?? Our flight was delayed, causing us to miss our connecting flight. We then had to wait almost 14 HOURS for the next available flight. When we finally arrived in Toronto, 3 of our 5 pieces of luggage were missing. We had 5 bags total — 3 carry-ons and 2 checked bags. We waited approximately 3 HOURS at the airport just for them to locate our missing luggage. And this is where things got even worse. When we finally got the first 2 bags, we immediately noticed they felt way too light. We opened them right there at the airport, in front of the airport staff… Our valuables were GONE. Someone had opened our luggage and taken our belongings!!!! And before y’all come at me with, “You should’ve put your valuables in your personal item.” ? There was literally NO WAY everything would fit in a small-ass backpack. We had 5 bags total, and we didn’t want to check our carry-ons in the first place. Air Canada forced us to check our carry-ons. And what makes this even more frustrating is that we saw plenty of other passengers with their carry-ons in the cabin. We were Zone 3, so there was a good chance we could’ve found overhead bin space. We would have obviously kept our valuables with us if we had the choice. Instead, we were forced to hand over our carry-ons, and now we’re dealing with our luggage being opened and our belongings being stolen. So this isn’t just about a delayed flight anymore. ✈️ Flight delayed ✈️ Missed connecting flight ✈️ Almost 14-hour wait for a new flight ✈️ 3 out of 5 bags missing ✈️ Waited 3 HOURS for our luggage to be located ✈️ Bags returned opened ✈️ Valuables stolen @Air Canada — we need answers, accountability, and proper compensation for our stolen belongings. Please help us repost/share this until it reaches Air Canada. ?? #AirCanada #AirCanadaIssues #TravelNightmare #LostLuggage #StolenLuggage ♬ original sound – mamafur
