President Trump Is Not Taking Losing His Kennedy Center Case Well

President Donald Trump is really upset about his latest legal battle over The Kennedy Center.
Earlier today, a report went out saying that Judge Christopher Cooper ruled against the Trump administration’s illegal renaming of the national landmark. Instead of closing relatively soon for renovations and a more permanent sign on the outside, now the institution will be hanging out in limbo.
As you would expect at this point, Trump took to Truth Social to air out his grievances and lay out his case amongst his supporters. The statement is long, and we managed to put in some extra punctuation here to break up an admittedly long wall of text.
Trump began, “Shockingly a judge appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, Christopher Cooper, ruled that the Kennedy Center, which was going to close in early July for large scale renovations and construction due to years of neglect, decay, and poor maintenance.”
“And which, was to be transformed by the Trump administration to the finest facility of its kind, anywhere in the world, is not allowed to close for these renovations, which would not be possible to properly do without such a closure,” he added.
In other words, this man is absolutely fizzing at this ruling. He thought it was all but a fate accompli that he would get to slap his name on the venerated Kennedy Center.
This would begin a new era of programming the venue with acts that were rubber-stamped by the Trump administration. However with this ruling, there’s at least a speed bump to such a path.
Trump loses Kennedy Center re-naming case

A lot has been made of Trump’s comments about the “unanimous vote. But, according to one member of the board of trustees, that simply wasn’t the case. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty was on that call and told social media that they allegedly rigged the procedure during a meeting. It’s a long story.
Beatty explained, “ For the record. This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move. Also, for the record, this was not on the agenda. This was not consensus. This is censorship.”
If that wasn’t wild enough, the congresswoman had more details to add about this supposed unanimous vote. It seems like, in their rush to get the deal done, they forgot that people still have social media and can spread the truth as they see fit.
She added, “Each time I tried to speak, I was muted. Participants were not allowed to voice their concerns who were online, yet it was said at the end it was a unanimous vote.”
Of course, this all ignores the earlier machinations to stack the board with Trump loyalists so that the path to success was easier. But, why let that get in the way of all the other “successes” that this administration has enjoyed.
What happens now?
To be frank, it’s impossible to tell. In a normal timeline, these actions would slow if not derail the plots to rename the Kennedy Center. After all, why are we renaming the building anyway when there was no real grassroots pressure to change the moniker on the outside?
As with a lot of things over the last two years, these are the results of one man’s obsessions. If the administration wants to rename something, it goes about trying to enact that agenda with the kind of aggression you wish they could spare for regular Americans trying to live their lives. That’s not the case, but that doesn’t stop the White House from trying.
