‘Trying to indoctrinate these kids’: Trump updates kids on Iran, but they do not seem too interested

A video of Donald Trump is currently going viral on the internet, including platforms like X (formerly Twitter), and has sparked a lot of discussion about the event. In the video, Trump is sitting in the Oval Office surrounded by children and telling them how the United States successfully neutralized Iran before it could launch a nuclear missile at the country.

While he says many things one wouldn’t expect someone to say, especially to kids, their reactions to his words make the situation even funnier. As Trump continued his relentless rant about Iran, most of the kids looked disinterested, looking around, some zoning out, and others looking for a way to escape.

Trump’s Iran story bores kids

In a widely shared video on May 5, 2026, multiple news outlets showed Trump in the Oval Office with “young athletes” and party members behind him. While you might expect someone to talk about education or sports when surrounded by kids, especially athletes, Trump chose to talk about Iran and how the US had supposedly taken it down after receiving intel that Iran planned to blow up the US with a nuclear weapon in two weeks.

Here’s what Trump told the children about Iran: “We just broke every record, and now we’re going to take a hit because we have to make a journey down to Iran to take the nuclear weapon. They would have had a nuclear weapon within two weeks. Remember, we sent that beautiful B2 bomber in, and we blew up their nuclear potential. It was obliterated for those that are not aware, and to a point where it would take them weeks to dig down, and we wouldn’t let them dig down. We have our eyes on it all the time. But it was a very important thing. So, we would have had… Iran with a nuclear weapon, and maybe we wouldn’t all be here right now.”

Trump says the Middle East would have been Iran’s first target

Soon after emphasizing how the US successfully prevented Iran from using a nuclear weapon capable of mass destruction, Trump discussed who Iran’s primary targets would have been if they had gone ahead with their nuclear plans. According to Trump, the Middle East would have been the most likely target, including Israel, and then they would have turned to Europe, followed by the US.

Here’s what he said while talking about Iran: “I can tell you the Middle East would have been gone. Israel would have been gone. And they would have trained their sights on Europe first and then us because they’re sick people.”
