‘Liddle Marco is ready to jump’: Marco Rubio calls Iranian leaders ‘lunatics’, but his boss was all praises about them a few days ago

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio is a loyal supporter of Donald Trump, so there’s no doubt that he will never oppose his boss. He proves this point once again. In a video circulating on social media, including platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Rubio, during a recent news segment on ABC News, can be seen criticizing Iran and its leaders, and justifying Trump’s actions in the country.
In the short clip available online, Marco Rubio calls Iranian leaders lunatics, insane, and religious zealots. He also says Iran should never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons because they have an “apocalyptic vision” of the future. He adds that Iran’s neighbors are aware of this, and for the same reason, they have supported the United States in their efforts against Iran.
Marco Rubio goes all out against Iran
As Donald Trump continues to reassure Americans that talks between the US and Iran are progressing toward a ceasefire, members of his administration tell a different story. One might assume this is because they weren’t briefed on his next steps, but given how much he values his friends’ opinions, that’s unlikely. Here’s what Marco Rubio said in a recent appearance that has people questioning his relationship with Trump.
As mentioned, Rubio appeared on ABC News, mainly discussing Iran and repeatedly emphasizing why he believes US actions there are justified. In a particularly heated part of the interview, Rubio criticized Iranians and their leaders, saying, “these people are lunatics. They are insane. They are religious zealots who can never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon because they have an apocalyptic vision of the future. And all of their neighbors know that, by the way, which is why all of their neighbors have been supportive of the efforts we’re conducting.”
Rubio shifts tone after learning about Trump’s comments
During his ABC interview, Rubio kept rambling about Iran, stressing the regime’s harmful impact on Iran and other countries. However, the reporter interrupted him to mention Trump’s recent remarks about having productive discussions with a “more reasonable regime” in Iran.
Rubio then calmed down a bit and, discussing this “new regime,” said, “Well, I’m not going to disclose to you who those people are because it probably would get him in trouble with some other groups of people inside of Iran. Look, there’s some fractures going on there internally. And at the end of the day, I think that if there are people in Iran who, now given everything that’s happened, are willing to move in a different direction for their country.”
