Laura Loomer is spreading a fake Rob Reiner tweet in a desperate bid to please her sadistic boss
After Donald Trump posted a sadistic message blaming Rob Reiner’s death on “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” most of the world recoiled. But Laura Loomer did the opposite. In a frantic show of loyalty, she dug up a long-debunked fake tweet and used it to justify Trump’s cruelty.
Rob Reiner and his wife were killed by their son, who was struggling with mental health issues and substance abuse. Trump’s Truth Social post in response to the murder was widely condemned as vile, inhumane, and detached from reality. Republicans, journalists, and even a majority of right-wing commentators criticized the post for turning a family tragedy into a political smear. However, Laura Loomer saw it as an opportunity to please Trump.
Instead of addressing the substance of the criticism, Loomer posted a screenshot purporting to show a tweet from Rob Reiner. In the post, Reiner vowed to stop posting on Twitter “until Trump goes to prison,” ending with “F*** all of you MAGA assholes.” She presented it as proof that Trump’s post was justified and that Reiner deserved the contempt.
The tweet was proven to be fake in 2023
However, the tweet has long been proven to be fake. The image Loomer shared has been circulating online since at least 2023 and was conclusively debunked nearly two years ago. Reuters fact-checked the exact screenshot and confirmed that Rob Reiner never posted it. The formatting was wrong, and the language didn’t match his verified account. No such tweet ever appeared in Twitter’s archives. In short, it was fabricated.
But that didn’t stop Loomer. Alongside the fake tweet, she escalated her attack, writing that Rob Reiner was a “loser.” She blamed the late director for his son’s addiction, and suggested the murder was a result of poor parenting. Loomer also framed Trump’s post as “speaking truth” and accused critics of being “simps” who want to “sing Kumbaya.”
People called out Loomer’s propaganda
Nobody missed the irony of her rant. Loomer railed against “Russia conspiracy hoaxes” while actively spreading a hoax that had already been exposed years ago. She accused others of dishonesty while posting fabricated evidence to defend a man who had just mocked a murder victim. Social media users immediately called it out. “Posting fabricated tweets to support your boss’s vile post is astoundingly sad,” one wrote.
Another added, “You’re complaining about hoaxes while posting a long-debunked fake tweet from a person who was just murdered?” And there’s also a hypocritical moral rot beneath her stunt. As one user puts it, “You’ve been hospitalized for mental issues. You’ve also stated that your brother had a mental illness. Why don’t you have sympathy for a family struggling with their child’s mental issues?” Another added, “You’re soulless and lack any decency,” urging her to delete the post. But she didn’t.
So, even in death, Rob Reiner wasn’t spared from MAGA’s smear machine. And Laura Loomer proved that loyalty to Trump matters more to her than truth, decency, or basic human empathy.
