Amazon released Brett Ratner’s documentary Melania on January 30, 2026. It begins with a voiceover by Melania Trump, stating that it was meant to detail her “journey from private citizen to first lady.” According to The Wrap, Trump also described the film as less of a traditional documentary, saying in a speech, “It is a created experience that offers perspectives, insights and moments only few have seen.”

Now, Amazon is following up the documentary with a previously announced docuseries on the first lady, according to her senior advisor Marc Beckman. Speaking with Real America’s Voice host Eric Bolling, Beckman confirmed that the docuseries will arrive this fall, according to USA Today. “That will be coming this fall. It’s confirmed […].”

No official release date has been announced. Beckman also shared even more details about the series with Bolling, describing Trump as “the most consequential first lady in history.”

The Docuseries Will Go Beyond the Original Film

Beckman said the docuseries will continue to expand on the original documentary by offering a broader look at Trump’s life and work. Per reporting from Mediaite, he told Bolling, “It gives the viewers a little bit of a peek as to what happens right toward the beginning of the new 47th presidential administration.”

Beckman said the docuseries will also offer a deeper look at Trump’s private and professional life. He stated, “You might remember, if you saw the film [Melania], we only captured about 20 days of the first lady’s life. We open the window, a little bit, into her private life, her marriage, her family. We open a little deeper into her career, as well as her philanthropy, but with the docuseries, it’s a little bit different. It’s shot completely different. It’s a very different story.”

Melania Had a Mixed Reception

According to The New York Times, Amazon paid $40 million for the rights to Melania and $35 million marketing the film. The documentary eventually earned $16.7 million worldwide and became the most-streamed film on Amazon’s movie charts following its debut.

According to USA Today, the head of domestic theatrical distribution at Amazon MGM Studios, Kevin Wilson, said in a statement at the time that its “strong theatrical performance” validated the company’s strategy and that exit data indicated people’s desire for more.

The documentary also received largely negative reviews from critics. Among film critics, reviews were almost overwhelmingly negative. The critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes read, “Presented with great pomp and circumstance but little insight, this documentary purports to be an up-close view of the First Lady while curiously revealing very little about her.”

Meanwhile, some Democratic lawmakers suspected the movie to be a way to curry favor with the presidential administration. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos denied being involved with the documentary or that it had anything to do with earning favor with the Trumps.

According to USA Today, though, Beckman vowed on Real America’s Voice that the docuseries will demonstrate the first lady’s “work ethic, that high level, that standard of being impactful.”
