‘Grandpa was up all night Rage Tweeting’: Trump looked so out of it in the Oval Office, you’d think Melania finally hit him with a truth bomb
Donald Trump has a nickname for everyone, but he doesn’t always appreciate it when others come up with one for him.
Recently, a lot of people have been referring to Donald Trump as “Sleepy Don” owing to the numerous occasions during which he was captured on camera dozing off. The name is a nod to one of Trump’s nicknames for former United States President Joe Biden, whom he used to refer to as ‘Sleepy Joe’ because, just like him, he also frequently closed his eyes during meetings at the White House.
After being seen closing his eyes and rubbing them during an Oval Office address a few weeks ago, where Dr. Oz was discussing drug prices, Trump was almost caught sleeping in a more recent appearance. The difference between the two instances is that while Trump was trying to give the impression that he was awake during the first instance, he didn’t seem to put in as much effort during the second. This has sparked a meme frenzy on social media, with many users highlighting Trump’s inadequacy as President and poking fun at him. One person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote:

Another person wrote:
“This is the guy who branded everyone else “Sleepy” —now he’s literally nodding off in the Oval like it’s nap time at the home. Head drooping, eyes closing, staff pretending not to see. This isn’t alpha strength, it’s a man running on fumes and ego.How much longer are we supposed to ignore the obvious just so he can keep playing president between naps?”
Many others had similar things to say about Donald Trump’s conduct during recent appearances. However, many Trump supporters on X defended their leader in chief, emphasising that his appearing sleepy during these instances is a sign of fatigue and sleep deprivation due to long hours and stress and not that of an incompetent president.
