Watch LeVar Burton Read Goodnight Moon to Neil deGrasse Tyson and Feel All Your Burdens Lift

Recommended Videos

This is the purest and most soothing video in existence on the Internet.

Prior to Audible’s Artemis eventStar Trek and Reading Rainbow star LeVar Burton read the children’s classic Goodnight Moon to astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson underneath the enormous moon that was the centerpiece of the evening (reporters didn’t witness this magical storytime; if I had, I probably would have cried openly and happily).

Tyson cuddles up beside Burton with a blanket and stuffed animal while Burton takes them through Goodnight Moon. I don’t know about you, but I felt healed on a spiritual level just watching this. If I had kids, I would set this video beside them at night to fall asleep. Hell, I’m going to set it beside me to fall asleep at night.

This would be wonderful and adorable on its own, but the fact that Burton is an animated and enthusiastic reader, no doubt trained from his Reading Rainbow days, just takes it to another level. And a sleepy Neil deGrasse Tyson is my new favorite thing.

I know it’s only Wednesday, but given how this week’s news is going already, I thought we could all use a Goodnight Moon break.
