According to videos posted by the bride, identified on TikTok as @shawna_nadeau, along with family member Jenlee Hicks and reposts from @original_ghettogaragetv, the confrontation unfolded at a Maine wedding after a woman allegedly arrived without an invitation. That woman, who posts under @makenzielee_, also shared videos explaining her perspective. The competing posts have fueled debate across the platform.
One widely shared video shows the woman recording herself as she approaches the wedding venue. Family members repeatedly tell her to leave as the confrontation escalates. Videos and photos Hicks shared afterward claim to show injuries following the alleged altercation.
The bride explained why her sister-in-law wasn’t invited
In the comments section of one of the TikTok videos, the bride provided additional background about the complex family dynamic. She alleged that she and other relatives had cut off contact with the woman about two years earlier because of what she described as a long history of abusive behavior. The bride claimed the issues dated back more than a decade. She said communication resumed only after the woman learned about the wedding.
The bride also explained that the woman is married to her brother. According to her comments, she chose to maintain a relationship with her brother while avoiding contact with his wife. She added that both her brother and nephew received invitations to attend the ceremony. She decided not to invite her sister-in-law because she believed doing so could disrupt the event.
In follow-up TikTok posts, the bride alleged that the confrontation became physical and said she later contacted law enforcement. She also claimed she pursued criminal charges and obtained a protection order following the incident. Those claims appear in the bride’s public social media posts and have not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, the woman accused of crashing the wedding posted several TikTok videos presenting her own account of what happened. Her videos have attracted hundreds of thousands of views, with commenters debating the family’s conflicting narratives.
