Time to break out those Snape “My Body is Ready” gifs! Marvel just added another member to is already incredible Black Panther cast—Sterling K. Brown. You might know him from the critically acclaimed People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story or NBC’s emotional wrecking ball, This Is Us. He is set to play N’Jobu, a new character  described as a “figure from T’Challa aka Black Panther’s past.” He joins an elite cast made up of Chadwick Boseman in the lead role, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman and maybe Andy Serkis. We still don’t have confirmation on that. It will be directed by Creed and Fruitvale Station’s Ryan Coogler and is set for release on February 16, 2018.

  • Cheers to Moonlight’s Barry Jenkins, who became the first black director to take home a National Board of Review Award. “You know, the country is changing, the world is changing, and you know, we’re trying to make America great again,” he said during his acceptance speech. “All I’m going to say is, I’m going to take this honor as a symbol of being considered. It’s a very considerable gesture of making America great again. And what I want to say is, I want to acknowledge this because as we make America great again, let’s remember some of the inconsiderable things in our legacy, because there was a time when somebody like me was not considered. Thank you very much. ” (via Vulture)
  • The trailer for the documentary I Am Not Your Negro is here and you should definitely watch. “The story of the Negro in America is the story of America. It is not a pretty story,” Samuel L. Jackson says in the video. (via Deadline)
  • Here’s a new take on Honest Trailers. Someone recut the trailer for Passengers and added in all of the negative reviews. We also had thoughts on the film, which you can read about here. (via Entertainment Weekly)

That’s it on my end. What did you all see?
