I gotta admit, I haven’t been paying much attention to the Beauty and the Beast reboot starring Emma Watson, so I didn’t realize it was a musical, and that Emma Watson herself would be singing the iconic Disney soundtrack. Now I have a lot of questions, namely: will the movie be including any of the songs that were written for the Broadway musical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast? Because that musical has some really good songs.
Aaaaanyway, thanks to a singing Belle toy that’s already available at Toys ‘R’ Us, we now have the ability to listen to Emma Watson singing a very brief excerpt from the song “Something There” from the original movie (and, of course, that song is in the musical also). I think she sounds great! She’ll probably sound even better when her voice isn’t coming out of a tiny toy speaker. (via /Film)
- After the tragic loss of both Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds this past week, we’re hankering for any chance to look back on their incredible legacies. By an odd coincidence, Alexis Bloom and Fisher Stevens already made a documentary about the two women that screened earlier this year at Cannes. HBO planned to show the documentary next March, but has instead moved it up in their timeline; it will air on January 7th. (via Vulture)

- North Carolina congressman Mark Meadows wants the incoming administration to roll back 2011 campus sexual assault guidelines, which he claims “deny the often-innocent accused basic due process rights.” Citation needed on all of that, sir. (via USA Today)
- Speaking of nightmares, Motto has a tally of all the different restrictions that have been placed upon women’s reproductive care this year. 60 restrictions in total.
