Mark Hamill Would Like You to Stop Overthinking Everything, Thanks

Recommended Videos

Mark Hamill made some comments this weekend at a charity function that made it sound like he might be “out of work” after Episode VIII wraps filming. This, of course, led the internet to go completely wild with rumors and speculation regarding the fate of one Luke Skywalker come Episode VIII. Today, however, Hamill quelled those rumors with the quickness while replying to a Hollywood Reporter tweet, writing, “I meant “out of work” because is wrapping soon, OK?

Hamill’s famous for fanning the flames of certain fan theories, like his connection to Rey and even Finn. He’s also a notorious autograph troll, often marking up fans’ Star Wars trading cards with hilarious comments and captions while signing them in the process. However, the fan reaction to the speculation was strong enough that it merited a serious response from the actor.

Just like he hashtagged himself up there: all we need to do is #WaitForVIII (wait for eight/it, get it). As for #ParsingHamill, well, let me tell you, I expected that hashtag to just be packed with Things Mark Hamill Has Said, but it’s disappointingly empty. Come on, internet, where are you? Show up!

Either way, we’ll know more about Luke’s f-VIII (f-EIGHT, get it, get it??) when Episode VIII comes out next December. ‘Til then, #DontOverThinkEVERYTHING, pals.
