Orphan Black To Be Followed By New Weekly After-Show

It’s hard to think of anything that could really make my Orphan Black viewing experience any better–but it looks like BBC America has gone and proved me wrong. The network announced that it will kick off season four of the show with a corresponding 30-minute after-show, which is going to air weekly and be called After the Black. Hosted by Ajay Fry, Morgan Hoffman and Teddy Wilson, the show will bring on Orphan Black cast and crew along with other special show guests to break down the episode of the week–similar to what’s currently being done with AMC’s Talking Dead dissecting all the gory inner workings of The Walking Dead.

The first episode is scheduled to bring on none other than Tatiana Maslany herself (a.k.a. the girl of a thousand faces–no, literally) and Kevin Hanchard (Art!), and will air at 11 p.m. right after the fourth season premiere of Orphan Black.

At a WonderCon panel this weekend, some of the show’s cast and crew teased more of what we could anticipate going into the fourth season. Showrunners John Fawcett and Graeme Manson said that season 4 would involve a trip back to the beginning for Sarah, all the way back to that evening when she encountered Beth at the train station–and will also delve into Beth’s backstory a little more (something I personally have been dying to see more of).

Fawcett and Manson were pretty quiet on the potential return of Delphine, although they added that what happened to her is “a big part of season four.” Meanwhile, while Cosima is still trying to recover from that particular situation, don’t forget that Helena is pregnant! Kristian Bruun, a.k.a. Allison’s husband Donnie, said that the married pair are “just trying to find that normalcy in [their] suburban life” while also dealing with their new roomie Helena.

Meanwhile, the panel also confirmed the return of clone Krystal! But we already know even more new clones will be emerging. So a little of something old, a little of something new.

Orphan Black season 4 will premiere on BBC America on April 14.
