Will Charlie Cox Play Daredevil in Avengers: Infinity War? He Wants To!

Recommended Videos

Actors from the Marvel Movie Universe have gone on to play their same characters in spin-off Marvel TV shows, but the reverse has not yet occurred — and Daredevil star Charlie Cox is hoping to be the first to make that leap, if the casting office for Avengers: Infinity War gives him a call. Cox told ET that it would be “the coolest thing ever” to even be asked, but he has his doubts:

Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two very different things. So even if the character were to appear in that film, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I would appear in that film. I will pick a fight with the guy that they choose!… So that would be a dream, but that’s not something that has been discussed.

It’s hard to imagine anyone else playing Daredevil at this point, especially after the first disastrous attempt to bring Daredevil to the silver screen. Charlie Cox has successfully redeemed the character since then; the success of the Netflix show seems like it’d be enough to make Cox Marvel’s first choice for a movie tie-in role. If they were looking, that is!

Plus, it would set a nice precedent if Charlie Cox made that leap — it would give us more hope for other actors like Mike Colter, Rosario Dawson, Krysten Ritter or Rachael Taylor potentially having the opportunity to leap from Marvel TV to Marvel Studios. And wouldn’t that be cool?
