Ciara Renée seems super excited to play Hawkgirl for The CW Arrow/Flash spinoff Legends of Tomorrow, but are they prepping her for her own series too?

SpoilerTV says:

SpoilerTV has learned that The CW is planning a separate Hawkgirl TV series starring Ciara Renée. The project is currently in very early stages of development. If The CW decides to move forward with it, it will most likely bypass the pilot stage and get a straight to series order.

It is unclear if the series will be set before or after the events of The CW’s upcoming TV series Legends of Tomorrow, which also stars Ciara Renée.

However, this morning The Daily Dot got a quote from a CW rep saying the news is “just a rumor.”

If it indeed is just a rumor, I’ll be bummed, even if I just had about an hour to get excited about the idea. Fans have been really taken with Renée and her enthusiasm for the role, and she’s been very active on social media too.

What do you think the chances are of Hawkgirl getting her own series? Remember, we’re still waiting to hear more details on that Vixen animated series.

Legends of Tomorrow currently has a full series order at the network.

[UPDATE] Renée herself has put the rumor to rest.
