No, these are not delusions of grandeur you’re having. This is the real thing: actual grandeur. And you didn’t even have to fix anyone’s hyperdrive.

But you may have to spend a bunch of money, because this thing is the real deal: Japanese appliance brand AQUA has created a fully-functional R2-D2 replica with lights, sounds, and a working refrigerator built in. It’s also got a rechargeable battery for when it goes wireless to deliver drinks to you by remote-control—it’s better than having kids!

What? Oh, yeah. I’m sure there are other things kids are good for aside from drink delivery. Someone has to be the Jedi younglings when my apartment turns into a giant game of Star Wars.

Anyway, AQUA is planning to have the fridge on the market some time in 2016, and hopefully someone will make it available to the US and other countries, too. Otherwise, you may have to find someone to smuggle import you one.
