Memphis-based Early Ehlinger made the above do-it-yourself dragon and plopped it onto his lawn. The thing breaths fire, reaches 20 feet into the air, and measures double that from head to tail. The dragon is made mostly from a wood frame, with a chicken wire subskin, and red cotton skin covering that. The head is constructed from AC ductwork, and a custom-welded mouth, that allows the dragon to breath fire via the noble combination of a “lawn torch/flamethrower” mounted inside. Read on below to check out the dragon breathing fire, as well as what the unit that allows it to do so looks like, and head on over to Ehlinger’s Picasa album for many more pictures of the dragon and the creation process.
