  1. So Robert Downey Jr. Celebrated His Birthday Yesterday By Hosting A Winter Soldier Screening For Adorable Kids

And thus RDJ continues his streak of being the best superhero of all time.

About a month ago, we heard that Robert Downey Jr. was planning on celebrating his 49th birthday in the sweetest way possible; since his big day, April 4th, coincided with the American release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, RDJ was going have 50 lucky superhero-loving kids over to watch the flick with Iron Man. And then he totally did.

  2. The Geekiest Moments of the Golden Globes

Not all that glitters is gold

The Golden Globes, that other movie awards ceremony, happened last night, and between hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, and other lovely ladies and gents in attendance, there were quite a few clips you're probably interested in seeing again. And if you didn't see them the first time, then you should come on in and watch Tony Stark give Lois Lane a Golden Globe, find out who got an award straight from the Khaleesi, and who showed up for a tiny Pirates of the Caribbean reunion.

  3. Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray Goodies Include Deleted Mandarin Scene, RDJ-Centric Gag Reel [VIDEO]

The Iron Man 3 Blu-ray doesn't come out until September 24th, but Marvel has started releasing some special features as teasers, like they do. Above you'll find a short clip from the gag reel, in which Robert Downey Jr. is generally a ridiculous human being (in the best way) and channels Sherlock Holmes for a second. RDJ, don't forget what movie you're filming! Under the cut is a brief deleted scene featuring Ben Kingsley's Mandarin. Warning: It autoplays.

  4. Hot Toys Releasing An Iron Man Figure With No Armor, Who’s Really Beat Up, And Has Lots Of Toys

    Excelsior!

Now that I own a Hot Toys figure, I can personally attest to their quality but while they've already produced a few Iron Man collectibles, they've decided to put out another, mostly armor-less one. "Hot Toys is thrilled to introduce the Tony Stark (The Mechanic) Collectible Figurine after the exciting scene where Tony Stark creates homemade weapons to infiltrate The Mandarin’s mansion," they write on Facebook. "Tony Stark in his battle damaged civilian attire in the movie, highlighting the newly developed head sculpt, an advanced body with light-up chest light and greatly detailed weapons and accessories." Take a look.

  5. Our Favorite Nerd Celebrities Are Wearing Lisa Frank

    Just What You've Always Wanted

Well, sort of. We found a new tumblr you might want to follow. It's called Funky Fresh in Lisa Frank. The creator has taken celebrity images and photoshopped them so it looks as if said celebrity is wearing Lisa Frank merchandise. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see folks like David Tennant, Robert Downey Jr. or Kit Harrington sporting the looks voluntarily. Check out the gallery and see who else got the colorfully cute treatment!

  6. Robert Downey, Jr. to Return in Future Avengers Movies

Can you really picture any other billionaire, playboy, genius, philanthropist?

Speculation abounded in the aftermath of Iron Man 3, what with the end of Robert Downey, Jr.'s contract with Marvel. After negotiations, he has signed on to reprise his role in two more Avengers movies, the first of which is due to come out in spring 2015.

  7. Robert Downey Jr. Signs for The Avengers 2 and 3; No Iron Man IV In Sight

    Excelsior!

The release of Iron Man 3 saw an uptick in questions about Iron Man IV and Robert Downey, Jr.'s place in Marvel's business plans. This is sort of natural talk for any given blockbuster film, but it was particularly pertinent because Downey's contract with Marvel was up: he'd done all the films he signed on for. A lot of speculation swirled as the actor made open statements like "I'm not going to be playing Iron Man forever," and "sure, I'd be interested to watch somebody else in the suit." But nobody really expected Marvel or Disney to pass up a chance to resign the actor behind their highest grossing superhero sub-franchise, and Marvel announced that a new deal has been struck today.

  8. Boy Meets RDJ and Cries When He Discovers He Is Not Iron Man

    There Can Be Only One

Little Jaxon Denno loves Iron Man-- so when he learned that Iron Man would be in town (Robert Downey Jr. is filming a movie called the Judge in Western Massachusetts) and was happy to come and meet him, he was ecstatic. When RDJ showed up instead of Tony Stark, however, he was not so excited.

  10. All Sides Suit Up To Negotiate the Future of Marvel… Maybe With Blade, Ms. Marvel, Black Panther, and The Runaways?

Fact From the Vapor of Nuance

If you've been seeing a lot of news stories lately where Robert Downey, Jr. casually says something to the effect of "I'm not going to be playing Iron Man forever" or "yeah, I'd be interested in seeing who else could be Tony Stark," it might be informative for you to remember that his contract actually is up to be renegotiated in this post Iron Man 3 era. These seemingly casual remarks are actually the first salvos in the epic game of moneyball that's about to be played between Downey and Marvel Entertainment over what he'll be paid to appear in The Avengers 2 and possibly The Avengers 3. This means that some news outlets are pulling out all their unnamed sources to talk some straight insider talk about the contract negotiations between Downey, all of his Avengers co-stars, and Marvel. So you should take this with a grain of salt, but one of those news outlets is claiming that Marvel is mulling over script ideas for some pretty exciting secondary characters.
