Amanda Reacts To “The Rains of Castamere”

We asked contributing writer Amanda LaPergola to review the third season of Game of Thrones when it was set to wrap up on June 9th. As a writer, Amanda is…special, and her concept of deadlines is…flexible. So, it took us by surprise when Amanda’s review came in not just on time, but before the last episode had even aired.

As per usual, we received a note from Amanda’s mom (“Dear Miss Sue: Please excuse, well, to be quite honest, I’m not sure what’s going on. I found these on the floor next to my daughter, who has been there for about four days.”) and the following.

It turns out that Amanda had decided not to review the entire season but instead just one particular episode.

The Red Wedding claims another victim.

Amanda LaPergola maintains a scrappy little blog called “LaPergs: A Life” and tweets @LaPergs. She needs all the hugs.

The cartoon girl reminded me of Tina from Bobs Burgers, laying on the floor and sulking.

  • Amanda LaPergola

Tina is pretty much my spirit animal, so that makes sense.

Do we still say taped? I thought we had turned DVR into a verb, as in “I DVR’d it”.

  • Dan Griffin

    i still rock Type.

I prefer “VHSing”. But only when referring to my collection of phonograph wax discs.

Still a better love story than Twilight.

This probably won’t help, but just in case: I heard #Rainsofcastamere by Peter Hollens. Its really different from the movie one, and really good. If you like it, share it around, would you? Hoping this doesn’t give you flashbacks.
