In Monday’s X-Files, Mulder and Scully Meet Mini-Mulder and Scully

Okay, so we’re more than halfway through the revival of The X-Files–and I have to say, overall I’m feeling pretty good about how it’s going. I know some reactions have been mixed (I’ve seen plenty of them on my Twitter timeline already), but what it really boils down to for me is how much fun it is to see Mulder and Scully on my TV again–the nostalgia factor, ultimately. I’ve had some quibbles here and there, but at the end of the day they’re not substantial enough to make me stop watching (and I wouldn’t stop even if I hadn’t committed to writing reviews for TMS).

In this latest clip from Monday’s penultimate episode, “Babylon”, Mulder and Scully team up with a pair of younger FBI agents who bear a striking resemblance to a duo we met way back when in this same basement office. Special Agent Miller (Robbie Amell) professes a belief in the paranormal, while Special Agent Einstein (Lauren Ambrose) is a medical doctor who claims a distant relation to the famous scientist. Which is ironic, Mulder notes, because Scully wrote her dissertation on Einstein’s twin paradox once upon a time. (Bwahaha, parallels.)

There are a couple brief clips Fox has been kind enough to release ahead of Monday night’s episode, so you can watch them below! This one looks like it might be one of those more light-hearted eps–and after “Home Again”, I think we need it.
